Maureen O'Neill - Davis
Maureen O’Neill – Davis is an Advocate, Community Organizer, and PLTI Parent Leader. She is President of Contemporary Concepts, Inc. (CCI) a Florida-based firm she started in ’97. CCI has engaged in a variety of revenue-generating business activities including the development of commercial real estate and a West Palm Beach, FL Toad’s Place franchise. Currently, CCI d/b/a Building Social Change provides grant writing, PR, and event services to small businesses and non-profits. Prior to ’97, Maureen worked in the concert promotion industry as a marketing professional responsible for promoting a wide variety of concerts, theater productions, and the tours of major recording artists of all musical styles and genres as well as several festivals.
Maureen’s “WHY” began in ’11 with a call to the Connecticut DCF’s Voluntary Services program to access provider-recommended high-need treatment and supports for her kinship adopted daughter. What followed was anguishing, costly and dangerous to her and her family, and counterproductive for her struggling daughter. As a result, in '14, she set out to change the child welfare and child behavioral health care systems to ensure other families could access appropriate care for highly traumatized kids and raise awareness about complex developmental trauma.
Maureen studied Dance Performance at the Hartford Conservatory of Music and Dance, Entertainment Business at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and holds a BA in General Studies w/a communications focus from Southern New Hampshire University. She received additional training in Real Estate Sales, Effective Grant Proposal Writing, and Civic Engagement, and is currently a Parent Leadership Training Institute Phase II facilitator.
